I’m hoping to spend more time this year really building up my internet presence. With that being said, I’ll be sharing a lot more of the work I’ve done in the past year that I’ve been putting off on sharing for such a long time now!! Today I felt it was a good time to finally share some of my favorite images from Sadie and Ryan’s pre-wedding session on Newport Beach in Southern California. I was completely new to the area and we started shooting almost immediately when we got there. It’s hard to explain how gorgeous the California sunsets are! The light is so diffused from the beachside waves crashing in. I remember very well that it was also a very windy day, and needless to say I admittedly struggled a little bit with my settings, but nonetheless I was very pleased with how beautiful these turned out after the fact.
Sadie is a photographer and EXTREMELY talented artist herself (See her work at Studio Sienna) and invited me to photographer her wedding in Riverside, California this particular weekend last year, so I definitely felt the pressure to take some great photographs for her! As every photographer always says, it’s such a compliment when another artist asks you to do work for them, so thank you so much, Sadie!! We took these special Newport Beach Engagement Photos since we never got the opportunity to shoot an engagement session together. It was a good test run for the wedding just a few days later. It was a great experience for me photographing and exploring a brand new place at the same time. We walked around the dock, they showed me the infamous Ruby’s Diner located right on the dock (we didn’t have time to eat there this trip, but I definitely want to visit again and try that place out!!). After some photographing on the dock, we waited a bit for the sun to REALLY hit the horizon so we could get some of that gorgeous golden sunset light. Well, the sun started setting FAST and we rushed to the beach to get some romantic photos before the light disappeared. It was an experience I’ll definitely remember!
