Shawn and Darci :: Pueblo, Colorado Engagement Photography

Darci has found a hobby in photography while taking a class through the local university. Through her study she emailed me one day with interest to intern with myself. Unfortunately, timing for the internship did not work out but she then contacted me again when she became engaged!! I think the greatest compliment is when another artist loves your work enough to hire YOU. :)

I met with Darci, her sister and her mother for her wedding consultation. I never know how a consultation is going to go until of course, I know whether or not the couple does want to hire me for such an important day. The same night of our consultation Darci got back in touch with me to let me know that she wanted me to be her wedding photographer! At that point I hadn’t met Shawn yet. It is very important that I find a connection and get to know the couple before their big day, as I don’t want to just be someone just taking pictures. These photographs have to have meaning, and getting to know the couple before their wedding allows me to be able to work with their personalities and to reflect who they are, as well as to be able to portray all the emotions of the big day. This is why I always include a complimentary engagement shoot with a booked wedding.

Shawn and Darci will be getting married near San Isabel and I cannot WAIT for their wedding this July. Not only because I know it will be a beautiful location, but also because a very important family member will have a huge part in the wedding: her Shih Tzu/Poodle Mix, Nelli! I was honored to also meet Nelli during Shawn and Darci’s engagement shoot. We did their shoot on a cold winter morning in Pueblo, which provided some beautiful soft light to work with. Here are some of my favorite shots of my morning with the three of them.

Thank you so much, Shawn and Darci for providing me with the opportunity to be your photographer! I can’t wait for your mountain meadow wedding :)
