All right people. I’m really putting myself out there for this one. I’m really nervous because I’ve recently learned that I’m awful at public speaking but I’m going to do my best to help teach other people what I know about how to take beautiful starry night photos. I’ve been trying to find a way to help a wonderful and educational association that I’ve had the pleasure to become a part of in the past year. Right now they’re trying to raise funds for several resources that will be available for the public, including another Astronomy 001 class which is geared toward younger children, as well several upgrades for the new Southern Colorado Astronomical Park in La Veta, Colorado. I’m putting together a short workshop where I will do my best to teach you my “ways” on how to photograph the night sky. This workshop will be done completely by myself. As I said, I’m not very good with public speaking so if you do join us please bare with me!! I did review this with a few other people and I finally decided that the cost will be $50 so that we can encourage all available slots to be filled, but please know that any additional donations to the society are accepted and COMPLETELY appreciated! Please know that space will be limited.

This group of serious and amateur astronomers are so dedicated to public outreach and to ignite curiosity for our universe. If you have ever attended one of the public events I want to point out that ALL of the SCAS members involved completely volunteer their time for these events just to share their knowledge with everyone in our community. ALL of the proceeds collected from this event will go toward either the Astronomical Park, the Astronomy 001 class, or any other potential future program which cannot be launched without the proper funding. I’m really honored to consider myself a member amongst this awesome group. Pueblo is very fortunate to have this program and I want to do what I can to help them so they can continue for many years to come!
