As a Colorado engagement photographer, I am more than thrilled to be able to be able to take your engagement photos in any particular location you choose, whether it be extravagant or not. In fact, I’m looking to take more in areas of Colorado that people don’t know very much about; including the eastern plains, the bare desert in the south and near Alamosa, and anywhere else that you can think of that is often overlooked in Colorado. Colorado has so many beautiful locations that are so often overlooked. And in regards to your engagement photos, for me it is more important that you have a true and genuine love for each other that shines through the images, rather than mountainous scenes and incredible backdrops. Of course, those are always beautiful and inspiring to work with, but the most inspiring part about any session that I go into always ends up being the couple who loves one another.
I had the lovely opportunity to photograph both the engagement and wedding of Jeff and Kim. With our busy schedules and while having the two live several hours away we decided to take a more casual approach to the engagement session in that we didn’t look for any extravagant locations to take these photos. Although their wedding took place in the ever-so-beautiful Crested Butte, Colorado (more photos from their gorgeous wedding will come later on down the road!), these two weren’t so picky about where their engagement photos were taken. Sometimes all you need is some beautiful light and a quiet spot to be able to get a good set of images. To loosen things up we relaxed together before we started shooting and the two of them brought a bottle of champagne to celebrate the occasion. We spent a wonderful afternoon getting to know each other and I am so fortunate that I had the opportunity to be welcomed into Jeff and Kim’s life.
