Ryan and Katerina both come from families with foundation in Pueblo County, Colorado (home of the famous Pueblo Green Chile Pepper). So while we were planning their Country Engagement session, it made more than enough sense to celebrate their engagement on one of Ryan’s family farms, complete with farm fields, hay bails, and horses!
I will never forget this session. We met up at a gas station before we left to Ryan’s family farm. It was still completely dark out and we had a good half an hour driving still ahead of us before we arrived and prepared for the session. I remember Katerina being so joyful and awake when we met that morning! I am usually a night owl and I do my work past midnight and into the morning. I can completely understand someone who wouldn’t opt for a sunrise session, especially because we usually have to meet sometime around 5-6 a.m. to really get the best out of our time. But when I gave the option to Katerina she said to me, “that sounds great! I usually get up at that time every morning anyway”.
It is not very often that I get a couple who is more than optimistic to take photos at the very beginning of the day. By the beginning of the day, I literally mean we meet before the sun rises and we start taking photos as soon as the first bit of orange light appears over the horizon. It is tough to get up early enough and begin moving around so quickly, but hopefully in this set of photos you will be able to see how beneficial it can be for your session. Not only is the light unimaginably beautiful, but the morning is so quiet and soft. It is such a peaceful experience to be able to take your session in the morning and I couldn’t think of a better way to start my day.
